As you may have noticed, there have been big changes in the copse.
Firstly, the installation of our new sculptures and we are thrilled with the results! The ideas for the sculptures came initially from the children’s ideas; it was decided that we wanted a Woodland Creature theme. Then the Eco Committee conducted a school survey to see which were the favourite animals. Finally, we handed over the reins to Andrew Burgess, a sculptor based in Cheshire. All the children went out onto the copse to see the sculptures being made.
Now they are in position we are having trouble deciding which is our favourite!
The log circle has also been added to the copse and has provided a fantastic focal point for outdoor lessons. The children really enjoy being close to nature and it has also provided a excellent story time seating for some classes!
