What a wonderful show! Thank you so much to Southport Orchestra & their Musical Director, Jeff Rimmer, for giving our children the opportunity to be part of such a fantastic event: SO’s summer concert ‘Broadway Musicals’. Woodlands’ Junior Choir sang three numbers [‘Oh! The Thinks You Can Think!’ Seussical / ‘Children Rule The World’ Whistle Down The Wind / ‘When I Grow Up/Naughty’ Matilda). The Choir also performed ‘One Day More’ [Les Miserables] alongside the superb singers who had helped entertain the sold-out Floral Hall in Southport with a variety of numbers from musicals including Something Rotten, Aladdin, Chess, Into the Woods, Annie Get Your Gun & City of Angels. Southport Orchestra, as well as accompanying the choir & singers, also played selections from My Fair Lady, The Lion King, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, The Producers & Chicago. Highlights of the show (apart from Woodlands’ Junior Choir!) included Chris Rimmer & John Delahunty singing ‘A Musical’ (Something Rotten) & Rob MacGregor’s show-stopping performance of ‘You’ll Be Back’ (Hamilton) – “Everybody! Da dada da da, Da dadada dayada, Dada da da dayada.”
A final few thank yous.
Thank you to Woodlands’ Junior Choir. Not only were your performances incredible, your behaviour was brilliant too. Also thank you for all the weeks & weeks of hard work practising for the show – your dedication really paid off!
Thank you to all the family & friends who came along to the Floral Hall to support the children – I hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did.
Thank you to Mrs Rimmer who has led Woodlands’ Junior Choir magnificently throughout this past year – you truly are a STAR!
