Sing Jolly Phonics songs.

This week we are recapping some of the sounds that we covered in the last few weeks of term and using them to write words and short captions.


Look at the powerpoint about sh and then call out 4 words for your child to write, remembering to use the digraph sh at the beginning or end.

Watch the clip about ch and then see if you can think of 5 words that have got the ch digraph in them at the beginning or end.

Week beginning 7.12.20

Sing Jolly Phonics songs.

This week we are revising all digraphs sh, ch, th, ng. 

1. Think of words with ch and sh at the beginning e.g. shop, shed, chip, chin. Can you write the words in a short sentence?

2. Think of words with th and ng at the end e.g. bath, moth, sing, bang. Can you write the words in a short sentence?

3. Use digraph powerpoint to discuss and practise reading and writing the words.

4. Go on a hunt around your house for things that have the sh, ch, th and ng. Write a list of the things you find.

Week beginning 16.11.20

This week we are learning about the digraphs sh, ch, th and ng.

Digraphs are when 2 letters make 1 sound. 

1.Sing the jolly phonics songs focusing on the digraphs above.

Each week we have 4 phonics sessions in which we introduce new sounds. The fifth day is a recap of all the sounds we have taught.
