Week Beginning 25.1.21

Activity 1

Today we would like the children to use the Oak Academy link below to watch lesson 1 which is all about features of polar habitats. At the end it suggests making your own igloo using a few materials that you should hopefully have around your home.

Here is a short ‘Penguin’ fitness video to join in with.

Activity 2

Today we would like the children to use Oak Academy again and this time we would like you to watch lesson 2 about animals that live in polar habitats.

Another favourite from our Christmas show was the ‘Polar bear’ dance. Join in with the song and actions.

Activity 3

Today we would like the children to use Oak Academy and this time we would like you to watch the final lesson number 3 to identify how animals are adapted to the polar habitats.

Join in with this Cosmic Yoga Polar bear session.

Activity 4

Today we would like you to try painting on ice.

1. Freeze a thin layer of ice on a tray or plate.

2. Use paint to make a picture, it could be an arctic animal or anything else that you would like to paint.

3. Wipe it clean with a cloth and you can repaint another picture.

Join Andy in his Arctic wild workout. He has some great moves you can copy and join in with while learning about how Artic animals move at the same time.

Activity 5

Listen to the story ‘Lost and ‘found’ (Friday Literacy activity).

Can you try and make a boat to sail the penguin back to the South Pole?

Think about things that you have in your house and what materials would be best to make the boat float. You could use a bottle or yogurt pot, container or lid.
