Nursery Week Beginning 29th January 2024

This week we are reading another traditional tale - The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We will talk about the setting and the different characters in the story. We will paint pictures of some of the characters and we will think of some words to describe what they look like. 

We thought of lots of words to describe the troll in the story including 'mean,' 'stinky,' 'greedy' and 'green.'

We used puppets to retell the story.

At home - Can you describe a character from your favourite story? Perhaps your grown up could try and guess who you are describing.

We will also use music to retell the story using different instruments for the different characters. During our wriggling and jiggling sessions, we will practise moving like the different characters in the story.

In maths this week, we are practising our counting and subitising skills of small quantities. We will also match the numeral to different quantities of objects. We will use the language of 'pairs' and think about different objects that come in pairs.
