Autumn 1
Date: 22nd Oct 2026 @ 12:00pm
The children have worked so hard this half term! They have settled into their classes beautifully, produced excellent work, and been wonderful friends to one another. We are so proud of everything they have accomplished.
In English, the children have been preparing to write their own alternative endings to The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch, sharing some truly fantastic ideas.
Our creative journey continued in Art, where we explored colour theory through the works of Piet Mondrian and David Hockney. Using primary colours, the children crafted Mondrian-inspired masterpieces, and later experimented with creating tints and shades to put their own spin on Hockney’s A Bigger Splash.
In Geography, we developed our spatial sense by using compasses to navigate around the school grounds and mapping out our daily journeys to school. Meanwhile, in Science, we explored the human body and our senses, where the children were especially fascinated to learn about Helen Keller and how she learned to read and write.
Thank you for your continued support, and we hope you have a restful half term!
