Nursery Week Beginning 10th November 2025

Date: 6th Nov 2025 @ 3:48pm

This week, we are going to read the traditional tale Little Red Riding Hood. We will look at the setting of the story and the characters within it. We will discuss what each character is like and we willl draw and paint some of the characters in the story.

At home - Can you talk about the story of Little Red Riding Hood? Can you tell your family about some of the characters in it?

In maths, we are continuing to compare the size of different groups of objects, noticing when one group has more than another and when two groups are equal. We are also going to compare the size of different objects using the language 'bigger than' and 'smaller than'. We will begin to order a set of objects by size.

We had great fun investigating sets of nesting dolls and shapes and ordering them by size.

At home - Can you compare some of your toys at home? Which are bigger? Which are smaller? Can you order some toys from smallest to biggest?

After discussing the autumn colours that we could see, we sang a song about autumn leaves. We made our own autumn tree by dropping coloured water onto cotton pad leaves. We discussed the different colours and what happened when we mixed the colours.
