Nursery Week Beginning 11th May 2026

Date: 7th May 2026 @ 4:04pm

Continuing our theme of Creepy Crawlies, this week we will read one of our favourite stories - 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar,' by Eric Carle. We will talk about what we remember about the story and we will become familiar with the life cycle of a butterfly.

During our wriggling and jiggling sessions we will crawl like a caterpillar and also move like different minibeasts that we hear in the song.

At home - Can you move in a variety of ways? Perhaps you can crawl like a caterpillar or march like a millipede?

We will link our maths sessions this week to our story, naming and ordering the days of the week. We will talk about our nursery routine and the different things that happen on different days both in and outside of nursery. We will use the language of time 'first,' 'next,' 'after,' 'then,' 'before' as well as naming the days themselves.

We rolled dice and threaded that number of beads to make our own caterpillars.
