Nursery Week Beginning 12th October 2026

Date: 7th Oct 2026 @ 1:38pm

This week we are reading our whole school book ' The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be' by Joanna Gaines. We will talk about the fact that everyone is different and that we all bring something special to Nursery. We will discuss all the different things that we like to do. We will also work as a team to produce some artwork for the story, developing both our creative and fine motor skills.

This week, we will also be noticing and talking about the changing seasons. We will discuss the autumn colours that we can see around us.

During our outdoor learning session, we went on an autumn walk. We spotted lots of signs of autumn.

At home - Perhaps you could go for an autumn walk. What colours can you see? You might see some birds or other creatures. Can you talk about them?

We practised our fine motor skills by finger painting autumn trees and hedgehogs using some different autumn colours.

In maths, we are going to continue our learning about pattern. As well as using loose parts and natural materials to copy and create our own patterns., we will also focus on making up our own sound and movement patterns.

At home - Can you spot any patterns around you? Perhaps you could find some natural objects (such as pine cones, leaves and conkers) and make your own pattern.

Our rhyme of the week is Wind the Bobbin Up.
