Nursery Week Beginning 13th April 2026

Date: 25th Mar 2026 @ 3:08pm

We are looking forward to meeting some new faces in Nursery this week. We are sure everyone will soon settle in, make new friends and learn the routines of Nursery.

This week we are beginning our new theme - Creepy Crawlies. We will begin by introducing the story 'Twist and Hop Minibeast Bop' by Tony Mitton and Guy Parker-Rees. We will make predictions about the story by looking at the front cover and we will discuss the meaning of some of the words. During this topic, we will find out lots of information about different minibeasts and we will enjoy looking around our school environment investigating where different minibeasts can be found.

At home - Can you find any minibeasts? Where did you find them? Do all minibeasts live in the same place?

We will also use our design and crafting skills in our modelling area to create our very own minibeasts.

In maths, we are we are exploring 2D shapes and their properties. We will sort them in a variety of ways and will be making pictures using a selection of different shapes.

At home – What shapes can you spot around you? Can you describe them?
