Nursery Week Beginning 20th April 2026

This week we are continuing to read the book 'Twist and Hop Minibeast Bop' by Tony Mitton and Guy Parker-Rees.  After discussing some of the minibeasts in the story, we will talk about our favourite creatures. We will draw and paint our own minibeasts. 

At home - Talk about some different minibeasts. Do you know where they live or what they eat?

In maths, we are continuing to name and describe a selection of 2D shapes. We will use some shapes to make our own minibeast pictures.

We are also going to  develop our coding skills by directing Beebot (a progranmmable toy) around the garden. We will use positional language as we direct it to move left, right, forwards and backwards to find the different minibeasts.

At home - Do you have any programmable toys? How do you turn them off and on? Can you make them move?
