Nursery Week Beginning 20th October 2025

Date: 17th Oct 2025 @ 8:42am

This week, we are going to be playing lots of listening games. We will go on a listening walk and listen very carefully to all the different sounds that we can hear.

During our outdoor learning session we will explore the different sounds that we can make using the natural objects around us. We will think about the different types of sounds that we can make, including loud, quiet and soft ones. Using twigs, leaves, pine cones and sticks, we will explore tapping, patting, scraping, swishing and crunching.

At home - What sounds can you hear? Can you hear different sounds in different places?

What sounds can you make using objects that you find around your home? Can you make different sounds if you shake or tap your object? How could you make the sound louder or quieter?

In maths, we are going to continue looking at and making our own repeating patterns. We will also be learning and singing some counting songs.

At home - Can you remember some of the counting songs that we sing in Nursery? Can you teach them to your family?

We have enjoyed making bubbly potions this week. We used bubbly paint and had great fun popping the bubbles!

Our rhyme of the week is Wind the Bobbin Up.
