Nursery Week Beginning 2nd February 2026

Date: 29th Jan 2026 @ 4:34pm

This week we are continuing to read the story The Three Billy Goats Gruff. We will look at and discuss the setting of the story. We will also look at some examples of famous bridges and we will build some bridges of our own for the billy goats to cross. We will talk about what happened in the story and we will retell it using story maps.

At home - What could you build? What will you use? You could use paper, cardboard, blocks or Lego to build a fantastic structure.

In maths, we will use our knowledge of weight and shape to build our bridges. We will think carefully about the shapes we will use and why. We will need to make sure that our bridges are strong enough to carry the billy goats across.

Our rhyme of the week is Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear.

At home - Can you teach our rhyme to your grown up?
