Nursery Week Beginning 2nd March 2026

Date: 24th Feb 2026 @ 2:41pm

This week we are continuing to read the traditional tale The Enormous Turnip. We will discuss the characters in the story and we will use pictures and puppets to order and retell it in our own words.

At home - Have you got a favourite story? Perhaps you could retell it to your grown up. You could even draw pictures of the characters to help you.

As part of our learning about growth, we planted cress seeds. We sprinkled them and watered them and now we are waiting to watch them grow.

We went on a walk around our school grounds looking for signs of spring. We spotted spring floweers and buds on the trees.

In maths, we are deepening our understanding of numbers within 4. We will practise our subitising skills and explore making the number 4 in different ways.

Our rhyme of the week is Down at the Station.

Can you teach it to your family?
