Nursery Week Beginning 4th May 2026

Date: 29th Apr 2026 @ 2:52pm

This week we are continuing to read the story 'Matisse's Magical Trail' by Tim Hopgood. We will look at the artist Henri Matisse and his famous painting The Snail. We will tear and cut up paper to create our own snails in the style of Henri Matisse.

At home - What can you create using cut/ ripped up paper or tissue?

In maths, we are going to compare a selection of objects and talk about which objects are heavy and which objects are light. We will use the language 'heavy', 'heavier than', 'light', 'lighter than' and 'balance.' Using bucket scales , we will compare the weight of different objects and we will try to find objects that weigh the same in order to make the scales balance.

At home - Do you have any scales? Perhaps you could weigh out the ingredients when baking?
