Nursery Week Beginning 9th March 2026

Date: 4th Mar 2026 @ 10:31am

Continuing our theme 'Healthy Me', this week we are going to read the story 'Baby Goes to Market' by Atinuke. We will look at the front cover and make predictions about what the story might be about. We will discuss the setting of the story and the characters in it. We will also play some memory games, seeing if we can remember the different items that were bought.

As part of our learning about being healthy and making heatlhy choices, we will discuss the different food groups and sort food into groups. In our role play area, we are introducing our own market stall where we will be able to count pennies and buy and sell some different foods.

At home - Perhaps you can make your own market stall? You could look at and sort some coins.

In maths, we are continuing our learning about numbers within 5. We are concentrating especially on the number 5, putting 5 items on the 5 frame and making 5 in different ways.
