Reception- Week beginning 22nd September

Date: 19th Sep 2025 @ 4:47pm

We are very proud of all our Reception children. They have made a fantastic start in their new classes and really shown a sense of independence and maturity.

We have been learning about 'Ourselves', what we are good at, like doing and even what we sometimes fear. This has provided us with lots of opportunities to talk and share feelings and emotions.

We have also started our mathetatics lessons. We have been matching and sorting concrete objects and pictures. We have played whole class games of snap, put Autumn leaves and conkers in sets and sang songs to help us to learn to count.

In Literacy we have been reading 'Super Me'. A story about a boy who was scared of lots of things and how he overcame his fears. We have been listening to stories and talking about what we have heard.

As you will have noticed the children have been coming home with phonics stickers on their clothes. We have that you join us in helping to make the children really secure with their Set 1 sounds as this provides them with the early foundations for reading and writing. We have also sent home QR codes and flashcards for you to make.

Outside of the classroom, we have been on walks around the schookl so that we are familiar with the layout and where things are. We have participated in'Forest School' sessions, P.E. lessons, music and even run the mile!

Over the next couple of weeks we are contunuing with the same theme but also incorporating choices, colours and lots of work about Autumn.

Please remember to continue with the BINGO homework and share your achievements with us.
