Welcome from Reception

Welcome to Woodlands Reception classes.

We have 2 classrooms, Blue and Red and a large outdoor area. The children have access to all the areas during 'Continuous Provision' which they access every morning and afternoon.

We were delighted to meet those of you who could attend our Parent Meeting to see the classrooms and listen to how we organise the school day.

Here are some of the images of the activities that your children have been able to access over the past few weeks. These activites promote independence and resilience. They are closely linked to our topic this term which is called 'Super Me'. This encourages the children to talk about their families, what is special to them, what they are good at, their joys and worries.

BINGO Homework

We have recently sent home a homework BINGO activity sheet for you to do with your child. We would like you to spend quality time doing practical, fun things in your free time. Please bring any examples/phototgraphs to share with the class.

RWI/Phonics Homework

This term the children will come home every night with a sticker on that has a QR code, linking to our phonics scheme. This enables you to access the RWI portal and recap the lesson that has been taught each day. We learn 5 sounds a week in the first half term. We look forward to seeing you at our Phonics Workshop/ Ruth Miskin Training on Tuesday 29th September at 5pm.
