Dear Parents & Carers
It was lovely to watch Y1’s first production of ‘A Midwife Crisis’ this morning. We’ve missed having audiences in school – the children love performing in front of their families – it was great to experience this again. The children sang their hearts out, danced their socks off & remembered their lines brilliantly. I’d like to thank the members of the audience for following the measures we’d put in place & for the understanding shown over the reduced capacity.
I would like to thank Wright’s Landscaping Services for donating such a wonderful Christmas tree for the junior hall (once again) this year – it looks magnificent! Mr Inskip has festooned it with a couple of thousand lights & every child in school has made a Christmas decoration to hang on it. Those of you with a nervous disposition & penchant for themed Christmas trees may want to avert your eyes if you visit school over the next couple of weeks… I’ve noticed Mrs Dempster actually flinch when she comes along for assembly with her class!
I’ve attached a ’newsletter’ this ParentMail from Thinkuknow, entitled ‘Steps you can take to help keep your child safer online’. Thinkuknow is the education programme from the National Crime Agency’s Child Protection Command CEOP (NCA-CEOP) whose aim is to protect children and young people from sexual abuse online. I hope you find it useful.

Again, no classes achieved 100% in their attendance this week. Our overall attendance has risen slightly to at 93.2%. Well done to 5/6P & 6R, the only classes to have an attendance above at 97% or above (97.0% & 97.2% respectively).
We had 2 classes who had no late marks this week: 3/4M & 6R. There were 35 late marks across the whole school. 20 late marks ‘before the register closed’ – that’s before 9.20am & 15 late marks ‘after the register has closed’, that’s after 9.20am.
Next week our Christmas parties begin (the dates are on the website). Your child can wear their ‘party clothes’ to school on the day of their party.
Next Friday (17th December), it’s FOWSA’s Festive Friday event. As part of this, the children are allowed to wear a Christmas jumper but must wear the rest of their school uniform. So, it’s normal school uniform with a Christmas jumper replacing their Woodlands sweatshirt or cardigan. The only exception to this is Y3 & Y4 because they will be in their party clothes that day.
