Dear Parents & Carers
In Woodlands, we look to help the wider community. For this reason, we want to raise money for Cancer Research UK Children because it can save kids’ lives. It does some wonderful work helping families of all ages.
As house captains we want to raise money for Cancer Research UK Children. Therefore, we are organising an odd socks day where we want you to wear the craziest and most colourful socks.
Odd Socks Day will be on the Friday 24 of September. We are asking for a donation of £1 per child or £2 per family.
In children, cancer is very rare but not unknown. The most common form is acute leukemia and the second is bowel cancer. Over 1700 children are diagnosed each year but because of research, three-quarters of children survive.
Your money will be going to Cancer Research UK to develop better and kinder treatments for all and to improve the overall survival for childhood cancer.

On Monday 20th September, our House Captains will be leading a whole school assembly introducing Odd Socks Day to the children.
