Back to school: Prime Minister's statement

Dear Parents & Carers

This afternoon, the Prime Minister announced that the government intends to re-open primary schools in England on Monday 8 March 2021, with all pupils (from nursery to Year 6) returning on this date.

We are presuming that the social distancing measures & respiratory/hand hygiene arrangements that were in place in the autumn will be applied, but we will need confirmation of this (& other details) before we can publish our ‘back to school’ plan. We will continue to work closely with colleagues in Formby & across Sefton, & with the local authority too. I would hope to be able to inform you of the steps we have taken by the end of this week.

Our current arrangements, with school being open for the children of critical workers & vulnerable pupils only, will continue until Friday 5 March.

We are looking forward to having Woodlands full of pupils once again & we are confident, with sensible protocols & procedures in place, that we can do this safely.

Take care & stay safe

Keith Williams
