Goodbye & Good Luck! x3

Dear Parents & Carers

I am writing to tell you about 3 members of Woodlands’ staff who will be leaving us at the end of this academic year.

Firstly, Miss Roberts, one of our TAs in nursery will be finishing her time with us next week (early release for good behaviour!). I would like to thank her for her role in helping the nursery children transition to their new setting – she is a kind, caring & dedicated professional. Everyone at Woodlands would like to wish her all the best for the future – nursery won’t be the same without her.

Miss Abbott, currently teaching in 3A, is also finishing at the end of term. She has been with us for the past 2 years & has done a sterling job in our Y3&4 phase. She fitted into our staff team seamlessly & was an absolute stalwart throughout the various lockdowns. The children have loved being in her class, she is always firm but fair, & ensures every pupil works to the best of their abilities. We wish her all the best.

Finally, after spending the last 13 years in the Early Years Foundation Stage at Woodlands, Mrs Jones, one of our nursery teachers, is moving on to a new challenge in her life. She was one of the driving forces behind the setting up of Woodlands’ nursery class nearly 3 years ago & has been instrumental in its undoubted success. An outstanding phase leader at Woodlands, she has guided Early Years staff through the myriad of changes to curriculum & practice that have been introduced over the years. Mrs Jones has always ensured our children get the very best possible start to their school careers. She is such a kind, caring, dedicated person – the children absolutely adore her! We would like to wish Mrs Jones all the best in her new role as Literacy Project Manager at Kingsley & Co (a bookshop in The Strand run by the charity Ykids) – we know she is going to be a STAR there too! We will miss her.

We are very lucky to have had 3 such dedicated members of staff with us at Woodlands.

Yours sincerely

KD Williams
