Everyone at Woodlands would like to wish Mrs Girdler a long & happy retirement; after 37 years teaching (22 of them at Woodlands) she has finally decided it is time to pack up her pencil case, put the whistle back in the drawer & go and have a well-deserved rest.
Not that she will be resting on her laurels for too long, she has lots to keep her occupied: travelling, especially to her beloved USA; catching up with friends over endless cups of coffee; listening to her favourite pieces of music; best of all, spending time with her grandson, Charlie.
We will miss her cheerful personality, her kind & caring nature and all the sheer hard-work she put in to whatever she was doing at Woodlands. She loved conducting the Junior Choir – the many hours of practise always paid off with stunning performances in school, in various churches or several care homes in Formby.
It is always sad to see a true friend of the school leave, but we know that she has a fabulous time ahead.
