Wow! What can I say? We have been blown away by everyone’s generosity with their donations to Southport Foodbank; this is the second year we’ve supported this wonderful charity and the tins & packets have flooded in again.
Southport Foodbank has been open to help local people in crisis since May 2013 and during that time they have provided over 35,000 meals.
The Foodbank state, “We exist not to give a handout but to give a handup.”
The Rev. Harvie Nicol (St. Luke’s Church, Formby) led a whole school assembly to give our children a Christian viewpoint of harvest festival. He told the children about the history of harvesting crops, how it’s important for us all to care for each other & how if we see a frown on someone’s face, we can try to turn it into a smile.
Our House Captains will be visiting the Foodbank soon to follow the journey of the food we donated through the various stages at the Foodbank – look out for an article next week.
We are proud to have been able to support Southport Foodbank so successfully. Thank you again for your kind donations.
Working together, achieving more.
