I hope you are & your families are all well & are keeping yourselves as safe as possible.
There are few interesting online learning experiences, buy ‘online experiences’ I mean educational things for your children to do that don’t just involve sitting down at a table & doing work from our home learning sections on the Class pages.
There is a really link to a series of video lessons posted on the Royal Institution [of Science] website. These look like they’ll be great fun & educational too! Please share photos of your children tackling these experiments with us.
Steve Backley, conservationist/naturalist/action-hero/all-round-good-guy, is hosting an online Wildlife Chat question & answer session across Facebook, Instagram & YouTube
Carol Vorderman is allowing free access to her maths website throughout this period – there’s lots of brilliant stuff (sorry Mrs Rimmer!) on here:
There’s a Live History Lesson from the secret WW2 bunker in Liverpool at 1pm today:
“We will be streaming a live Facebook history lesson on life in Wartime Liverpool - aimed at Primary school age, but relevant for all. No booking needed, just go to our page at 1pm
The lesson will include a tour around Western Approaches Secret WW2 HQ in Liverpool city centre.
The lesson will also discuss the Battle of The Atlantic, the role of Liverpool during the war, rationing, air raids and more.
All free of charge and any child who completes the lesson will get a free pass to Western Approaches worth £8 when we eventually re-open.
We will also be adding more lessons to You Tube to keep history as a topic for children to learn whilst they are off school. Follow us on our social channels for more details.
Our lessons will be hosted by a fully qualified teacher. Just visit our Facebook page at 1pm and watch us live. You will see our icon and the words gone live. We will add the lesson and more to YouTube over the coming weeks so please keep checking for details and links.”
Don’t forget Joe Wicks, torturer in chief(!), who holds a daily 30 minute fitness workout each morning on YouTube. The children love it – staff are aching in places they didn’t know existed…
Please share any photos through the email addresses below – just post the photo to the right phase for your child. Staff are missing everyone so much & would love to be able to see (& share) what you’re all getting up to.
