In the summer term a group of children across the school had the opportunity to take part in some Forest School sessions run by Jo Sayers from the Mersey Forest in conjunction with Sefton Landscape Partnership.
The sessions took place on a Friday afternoon in an area of woodland behind St Luke's church and in our own outdoor area. We used tools to create elder jewellery, built dens, climbed trees and enjoyed a campfire amongst other things, all whilst developing the independent learning skills that we value at Woodlands Primary School.
The sessions were a great success! It was wonderful watching the children further their teamwork and communication skills and develop an awareness and appreciation of the environment in our local community.
