Important notice: Woodlands' Christmas productions

Dear Parents & Carers

I am writing to inform you that I have taken the difficult decision to have no face to face audiences for our remaining Christmas performances.

I know this decision will disappoint many of you, but in all conscience, I feel it is the sensible course of action.  With the latest government advice being for people to work from home, I don’t feel it makes sense to be inviting parents & carers into school, even with the measures we had put in place.

The following events are now not happening with parents & carers present:

  • Y3&4 Christmas Concert Wednesday 15th 9am & Thursday 16th December 2pm
  • Nursery Christmas Extravaganza Monday 20th December
  • Reception ‘The Greatest Snowman’ Tuesday 21st December 9am & 2pm

We are looking into filming both the Y3&4 Christmas Concert & reception’s ‘Greatest Snowman’ – either to post on Google Classroom / website or to record on DVD. The nursery Christmas Extravaganza will not be going ahead – parents & carers would have been taking part in Christmas craft activities alongside their children, with the odd song thrown in for good measure. We will be looking to record the nursery children singing & post it on the website.

We are aware of a number of cases of Covid-19 in our school community; I feel it is our responsibility to try & keep such cases to a minimum, particularly as we are all so close to having the Christmas we want this year.

I have consulted with Mr J. Mangan, chair of the school’s governing body, & he is supportive of the decision I have made.

Yours sincerely

KD Williams
