You may well remember that at the end of January we held our Sierra Leone Day; our School Council had responded to a request for help from school councils in other Sefton schools. We raised funds for the Waterloo Partnership (based in Waterloo, Merseyside), a charity which supports sustainable development projects in its namesake community Waterloo, Sierra Leone. Money raised was used to help fight the spread of Ebola: supplying cleaning equipment (disinfectant, soap, protective gloves, etc.) & food for those families quarantined in their own homes and therefore unable to work or buy supplies.
As you can see from the accompanying certificate, which arrived in school today, we raised an impressive £592.25 with your generous donations.
Thank you so much for supporting this wonderful cause - it's good to know we helped in a small way.
