Yesterday evening, the Prime Minister indicated that the government believes it may be in a position to implement a phased re-opening of schools from 1st June, starting with pupils in reception, year 1 & year 6. This is part of the government’s conditional plan which it says will remain under regular review.
As a school, we have only just seen the announcement too – we had no prior knowledge of its content. We are waiting for more information from the government about what this means for Woodlands & all primary schools. Until then, we cannot start to formulate a plan as to how to achieve what the government has requested. We will be working closely with colleagues in Formby & across Sefton, & with the local authority.
In the short-term, nothing has changed & we will provide further information in the coming days & weeks once we are able to, not only to the parents of the 3 year groups identified by the Prime Minister yesterday evening (reception, year 1 & year 6) but to the wider school community too.
Take care & stay safe
