Return to School: Y6 [from Thursday 16 July]

Dear Parents/Carers

As you know, from Thursday 16 July, Woodlands will be opening to Year 6 children.

You have chosen to send your child back to school from this date.

There will be no more than 15 pupils per pod.

We cannot guarantee that your children will be taught by their own teacher or even be taught within their own classroom.

We will endeavour to place them in a pod with children they know, but we cannot guarantee they will be with their ‘best friends’.

Each pod will be kept away from other Y6 pods during the school day. They will eat lunch separately & will not have playtimes together (maybe at the same time but not in the same space).

When in class, they will be sitting at forward facing desks, one child per desk (normally one desk would seat 2 pupils), at a distance of 1 metre apart.

Please ensure you read the details set out below:

We cannot provide wraparound (before/after school) care for Y6 pupils.

* All Year 6 children will finish at 2pm on Wednesday 22 July.

If a Y6 child is coming to school on their own (or leaving school on their own) please inform school beforehand & ensure your child is fully aware of the procedures to follow.

Only one parent will be allowed to accompany each child on the school site.

Please time your arrival to school for your allotted time (not before, not after).

It is imperative that parents leave the site as soon as their child is safely in school to facilitate safe social distancing.

Please do not park in the staff car park.

School uniform will not be worn. As mentioned previously, we will be looking to get the children outside as much as possible & do not want the added complication of them changing into PE/games kits. Please do not send them into school wearing their favourite outfit or something they (or you) would be upset if it got spoilt. Please send your children in with hats & sun cream (please ensure sun cream is applied liberally before the children arrive at school as they will need to apply this themselves during the day).
