Wow! What a superb show. Y5’s production of ‘Shakespeare Rocks’ kept the audience entranced from the opening song, 'Will's Wonderful Words', to 'To Be Or Not To Be', the closing number. Our children performed with such style & confidence – and a great deal of comic timing too.
Every scene was brilliantly performed; Act III was a particular favourite of the audience - a farce ensues when a group of Men-Dressed-As-Women with beards and hairy chests try to quote some female lines. The scene gets more ridiculous as a group of Women-Disguised-As-Men-Dressed-As-Women try to infiltrate the audition. The song 'No Girls Allowed' had the parents rolling in the isles.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Romeo & Juliet performed their duet in the ashes of the Globe Theatre.
The show’s finale ('To Be Or Not To Be') had the whole audience clapping along as the cast sang their hearts out for a final time. Simply stunning – thank you Y5.
A HUGE thank to Mrs Chapman & Mrs Cushing for producing the show & ensuring the performance was of such a high standard & that all the cast had a wonderful time.
We hope you enjoy the photographs as much as we enjoyed the show.
