Holly Charnock, Masterchef!


We already knew that Holly, our wonderful school chef, was a brilliant cook & a fully-fledged member of our school; along with her dedicated team in Woodlands' kitchen, they not only make the most delicious meals for our children but are involved fully in school life each & every day. Holly is always willing to take part in school events (World War I topic, Red Nose Day, etc.), she takes the time & trouble to encourage individual children to try new foods (sometimes this takes months, but she doesn't give up!) & she even runs a cookery club after school each week.


As I say, we know Holly is wonderful. So it's lovely for her to get wider recognition - she has just won the regional heat of the LACA School Chef of the Year & will go on to represent the Noth West in the national final next year. Over the past few weeks she has been honing her menu to perfection, school staff have tested her dishes on a regular basis - it's a tough job but someone's got to do it!


Her menu was as follows:

Braised beef tortellini with spinach, a tomato & basil sauce, balsamic reduction & a parmesan crisp.

Chocolate & beetroot brownie served witha banana crumble ice cream & a raspberry & vanilla coulis.


I can assure that no matter how delicious Holly's meal looks in the photos it tastes even better!
