A huge congratulations to our baking team and Holly our cook for wining McDougall’s Young Baking Team of the Year 2019. They scored a record 196/200 points – something that has never been achieved before! We are so very proud of them.
Being interviewed, photographed and being streamed live on the hotel's circuit T.V. as they cooked all added to the nerves and excitement. The children worked brilliantly, the teamwork was second to none and they created the perfect, edible “Woodlands Garden”. This consisted of raspberry and white chocolate cupcakes topped with buttercream which were the roses in the garden. Crushed chocolate cookies were used as soil and desiccated coconut for grass with a winding fondant path and chocolate tree trunks topped with apple candyfloss leaves. The pond was a rhubarb and ginger fizz with a touch of honey. Scrummy!
