Was this the best summer fair we've ever had? I think so!
There was so much to do: pony rides on Henry & Fidget from Bowlers Riding School; archery with High Elms Archers (based in Hightown); Sally-Anne Tapia-Bowes with her wonderful books (including 'Mr Crocodile's Adventures); having a go at numerous games [hook-a-duck, open the door, bottle tombola & many more); a plethora of stalls selling a range of wares (from tote bags to garlands of flowers); throwing soaking-wet sponges at some unfortunate victim trapped in the stocks; bouncing along a huge bouncy castle assault course; eating a range of summer fair food - cakes, burgers, ice creams & freshly prepared & cooked wood fired pizzas from The Courtyard. The day finished with a wonderful football match between Woodlands & Formby Seahorses with the home side scoring a late winner in a 5-4 victory.
We were very lucky with the weather - glorious sunshine throughout!
We also raised a huge amount of money for the school, over £3800. Wow! Thank you :)
Our EcoWarriors raised a magnificent £320 which will be re-invested to continue their wonderful work around the school grounds.
Thank you to everyone who turned up to support school, but particular thanks to everyone who helped to make the day such a success by donating their time & energy (parents, grandparents, pupils, staff - the list goes on & on). A huge THANK YOU to the members of FOWSA who have spent many weeks & months planning our summer fair - you are all SUPERSTARS!
Thank you to the paparazzi from Y6 for the photos.
